Heywood Academies Practice Problems ("the Service") is operated by Heywood Academies ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information we collect when you use the Service, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
We collect the information you give us directly, and a small amount of usage data:
- Account details: your name, email address, and a securely hashed password.
- Billing information: subscription and trial status, handled through our payment processor, Stripe. We never see or store your full card number — Stripe does.
- Usage data: which problems you've marked complete, so we can show your progress.
- A session cookie that keeps you signed in, and a local preference for light or dark mode.
How we use it
- To provide the service: account access, the problem bank, and your saved progress.
- To process payments and manage your subscription, via Stripe.
- To send account-related emails, such as billing receipts or password resets.
- To keep the service secure and diagnose problems when something breaks.
We don't sell your information, and we don't share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
Third-party services
We use Stripe to process payments and manage subscriptions. When you subscribe or start a free trial, the billing details you provide are sent directly to Stripe under their own privacy policy — we only receive your subscription status, not your payment details.
Data retention
We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. If you'd like your account and associated data deleted, contact us and we'll take care of it.
Security
Passwords are stored using industry-standard hashing — we never store them in plain text. Access to the problem bank itself is restricted to signed-in, subscribed accounts.
Children's privacy
The Service is intended for post-secondary and adult learners. It is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
